Juroon is a cherished Assamese tradition, and Sagan its Punjabi counterpart. The groom’s family arrives bearing gifts of traditional attire, jewellery and sweets to bless the bride and welcome her into the family. It is the evening our two families first become one.

The evening begins with the Baraat, as Prateek’s procession arrives with music and dancing. Then comes the Varmala, when Riya and Prateek exchange flower garlands, followed by the sacred rites around the holy fire that bind them together for life.
